Today started off as a warm, sunny day. My mom was craving seafood, so she got what she wanted, and we took her to Cajun Crackin’ in Concord, CA. It was my first time trying it. I’m very particular about seafood because the “fishy” taste is off-putting for me. To avoid that taste, Seafood must be seasoned and cooked just right. This place, surprisingly, did it right. It’s very challenging to find a good seafood place in Concord, and I think I found a decent go-to should I crave this sort of cuisine.

The steamed rice tasted fresh and cooked properly (not mushy), and we got the combo #3, which had snow crab legs, shrimp, clams, mussels, potatoes, and corn. It was pretty good and enough to feed 5 (with leftovers). We also tried the fried okra, cajun fries, and calamari (which were served before the seafood boil). Our server gave us scissors, seafood crackers, and gloves to avoid messy hands. It was well worth the wait. My family didn’t think to make a reservation (neither did I), so when I got there first, it was a 74-125 minutes wait, so I immediately contacted my family to tell them to find something to do since I signed us up for the waitlist. They had a good system; they had a tablet on the stand to sign in with your name, party number, and phone number so they could text me when it was time to be seated. I could even share the live wait time via text with my family. We ended up waiting about 120 minutes for a table, which was understandable since it was Mother’s Day.
When I told my family to go do something while we waited for that long time frame, they went shopping elsewhere, and I walked around the Willows Shopping Center. I visited Daiso, Ulta, and then sat at Panera on my laptop to kill time.
For gifts, I purchased them from Ulta within the shopping center:
Kenra Professional: Volume Spray 25- 10.0 oz
Bumble and Bumble: Seaweed Nourishing Air Dry Cream- 5.0 oz
Good Molecules: Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches
After we all reunited, ate, and felt the food coma coming in, one of my sisters wanted to stop by Red Ribbon Bakeshop to buy the Mango Supreme Cake that our mom loves so much. When we got home, we took photos of all my mom’s gifts given by me and my sisters, made tea, and rejoiced with dessert. Today was an overall satisfying day. The weather has cooled down, and now we are crashing on all the delicious foods and sugar from dessert.

I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow. I need more time to recover, but well, I have to recover financially from this day. On Memorial Day weekend, I’ll be driving down to Pasadena with two of my sisters for a mini-adventure.
I’m looking forward to making more memories and taking more photos and videos to reflect on.
